Got hired for what is technically job #3 (if you include the sporadic catering job) at the Alumni Association (1st floor).....i'm moving on up! (from the basement and job #1, the alumni office...yes, they are technically different jobs).

Found out that in all combined jobs I am only allowed to work a total of thirty hours (or rather, will only get paid for 30 hours for campus jobs in total).  Does anyone know more about this?  I am not entirely sure what counts and what doesn't.

Went with Natalie yesterday to take pictures of the ginko gallery cats, they are adorable.  Two little girls who were playing with them, both around age 6, posed with the cats making sad faces in the pictures to try and get them adopted.  Who could resist those faces?

Was so tired when I got home last night that I slept from 8pm until the time I got up for work this morning.  I am bummed I missed seeing the hulk with everyone.   Sorry guys.

I went to a drag king show tonight in Cleveland...it was amazing, the same kids we saw at gay pride for the most part.  I got to chat again with some of the folks we saw in the subway when we were hiding out from the storm.  This one drag king (max) had his mom come to support him and the gang, she dressed in drag too, it was amazing.  What a cool mom.  Yitka, Erica, Sarah, Aries, Pia, and a few other random folks and I got up and danced on the stage after they were done.   Everyone is just so friendly and comfortable being totally ridiculous- everyone is so in their element and I love that.   

also, I got to wear a vest and a cape....which made me all the more happy and ridiculous.

Collin, the boy that made high school bearable, called me yesterday.  Granted, I finally got up the balls to call him first, but him calling me back is a big deal.  We haven't talked since October break for technical and other reasons.  He stopped checking his facebook because I was the only person he would talk to on it.  My AIM doesn't work.  He doesn't do phone.
It's hard.

Point being, It had been a long time.  It was really, really nice to hear from him.  He doesn't believe me, but he would do well at Oberlin.  However, the neoliberalism might drive him a little bonkers.


Had fun hanging out with Natalie and Kurt and then went to the house where Catherine, Benny, Molly, and a bunch of other people are living.  I ate cake, played taboo, and set off fireworks at Jess Cumming's birthday celebration.

Saw Jenny Saladik for the first time in a while.  The same day Sean, my housemate, introduced me to kill bill.  dear god, what a wonderful movie.  Who but Uma Thurman could possibly be bad ass enough to will herself out of being a paraplegic?



Watched Blue Velvet with Aries and then spent a full day making dulce de leche.
Blue velvet was horrific.  It made sex sound horribly unappealing.  However, the dulce de leche was delicious.  Commenting on the most horrendous aspects of the movie with Aries was pretty fun too.  Aries also cleaned my kitchen, which was sweet, but way way too nice of her.  Thank you Aries.


As a random side note....my, of the cat formerly known as my cat, had an abortion and got spayed.  The abortion is sad because I don't see it as entirely necessary.  However, it is a very good thing that she got spayed.  They kind of did a shit job, so I hope she heals okay.  I might take her to another vet to get them to look at it .
